With an energetic sound and powerful physical performance, taiko drums have become popular all over the world. This 3-day Summer School offers expert tuition in Japanese taiko drums with Hiroshi Motofuji.

Hiroshi Motofuji joined a traditional taiko group aged 9, and at 16 joined Oedo Sukeroku Daiko, a leading professional taiko troupe based in Tokyo who later gave him the title "Master of Taiko". Taiko means "big drum" in Japanese, and has come to mean any small or large drum used to make taiko music. Taiko drumming is a vibrant and highly skilled art from that is now popular world-wide.
