THE HUONG THANH TRIO: TRADITONAL MUSIC OF VIETNAM

The Asian Music Circuit is delighted to present the UK Premier Tour of Huong Thanh Trio. Huong Thanh Trio will perform in London, Newcastle, York, St. Ives in Cornwall and Nottingham from 30 th May to 14 th June, 2009.

Using a variety of ancient instruments, the Huong Thanh Trio performs the rarely heard traditional music of Vietnam. The artists, based in Paris, have spent their lives far from their country and their music expresses their longing to return to a homeland that has long since disappeared and is just a memory.

ASIMA - on tour October/ November 2007

The word ASIMA means "without boundary" in Sanskrit and defines the life of the composer of this beautiful music - DEVISSARO. The maverick composer's most recent critically acclaimed work, The Midsummers Night's Dream, now brings us a male vocal & percussion ensemble which uses ancient Sanskrit texts as the basis for the music. Moving from recitation to an almost modern pop song, the music is uniquely charming and beautiful.
