The AMC devises and organises educational activities to take place in schools, hospitals, detention centres and especially in our centre in Acton.
We can provide music and dance workshops from Asia including India, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan, Indonesia and elsewhere. We also provide workshops relating to festivals like Diwali, Chinese New Year and others.
There are three strands of AMC's education outreach programme:
School Workshops
The AMC works with over 50 schools per year. We offer tailor-made packages to suit different needs. We work with pupils from the age of 5-18, organises INSET training for teachers and a range of Asian music workshops, performances and courses helping to deliver the National Curriculum in schools.
Music In Detention
The AMC is working in partnership with Music in Detention to deliver workshops in 10 detention centres in the UK. Through music, we hope to provide experiences for the detainees, which will create a measure of self-esteem and work towards releasing the stress suffered in detention.
Music in Hospital
The AMC has been working to establish good relations with NHS Trusts to deliver regular music educational workshops and recitals in hospitals. These can take place in reception areas as well as in wards.
We are always looking for new workshop leaders. If you are musicians/ dancers specialising in Asian music, OR If you are interested in booking any of the educational projects listed above, please contact the AMC education team on info@amc.org.uk
