The Asian Music Circuit is delighted to welcome highly acclaimed classical Indian vocalists Mowna Ramachandra and Chiranjib Chakraborty.

Mowna Ramachandra began her training in Hindustani Classical music under Pr Arjunsa Nakod of Dharward and has now for several years been a senior disciple of Veena Sahasrabuddhe, who is the much acclaimed and popular vocalist of the Gwalior Ghanara.  Blessed with a rich, sonorous and tuneful voice, Mowna is established as a talented and upcoming artist of the younger generation. She has given several performances on many prestigious platforms in India and abroad. Noteworthy among these is the inauguration concert of the Oresund Bridge connecting Sweden and Denmark.  Mowna has received several scholarships and is a B+ grade artist of the All India Radio and an empanelled artist with the ICCR. Mowna is also the recipient of the Sur Mani title.

Chiranjib Chakraborty is one of the top vocalists of Indian classical music. Highly creative and versatile, Chiranjib brings to life a wide-ranging musical repertoire consisting of ancient Dhrupad and sublime light classical, as well as contemporary fusion styles. His music sparkles with a rare combination of virtuosity and classical purity with a strong sense of artistic aesthetics.  Chiranjib has received musical guidance from the acclaimed veteran musician late Pandit Nidan Bandhu Banerjee of Rampur and Gwalior Gharanas. From 1993 onwards, he has been associated with the ITC Sangeet Research Academy, as a student under the eminent vocalist Pandit Arun Bhaduri.  From 1997 to 2001 he remained attached as a teacher with Shrutinandan, a musical institution of Kolkata founded by Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty.  Currently engaged in learning Karnatic vocal music from Maestro Padma Vibhushan Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna.  Chiranjib's blend of styles from Rampur, Gwalior to Patiala/Kasur Gharanas has received much critical acclaim and appreciation by the music circles of India and abroad. His tonal quality, exercise process, presentation and ability of control of sur (pitch) and tala (rhythm), has also drawn special attention from music lovers.
