A Charity Fundraising Evening Of Classical Music, Ghazals & Dance Performances.

We are a well established Asian Women’s Organisation who has been offering voluntary services to the community for the last 20 years. This is our debut fund-raising event and it is intended solely for the purpose of ensuring that our services - aimed particularly at meeting the needs of Asian women, may continue uninterrupted even in these economically constrained times. Our mission is to alleviate poverty, isolation and distress in society through the provision of advocacy, advisory and counselling services combined with creation of educational, recreational and cultural opportunities to promote life chances and improve the physical, mental and general health and wellbeing of our service users.

The musical concert shall offer classical music and ghazals by Dr Radhika Chopra - a highly accomplished artist and academic from New Delhi and some dance performances by various artists under the direction of our counsellor, Ruta Barve.

The date and venue for the event are: Sunday 26 August 2012 at 3.30 pm at Winston Churchill Hall, Ruislip, HA4 7QL.  The doors shall open earlier at 3.00 pm to allow time for collection of the pre-booked tickets sold at: £20.00. Last minute purchases at the door are for £25.00. Light refreshments and a complimentary vegetarian buffet meal will be served during the interval.

Our goal for this event is to raise at least £15,000.00 enable the self-financing of the event and for the balance to go towards upkeep of our services and acquisition of equipment and resources to launch a computer literacy class for which there is a high level of demand.

We shall be most grateful for all donations including any laptops and an overhead projector for class presentations. Our Charity Registration Number for donation purposes is: 1080649 and the cheques may please be made payable to: Diwa Asian Women’s Network or, DAWN.

Thank you all for your kind support, it is greatly appreciated.
