Amir Khan
Ustad Amir Khan (15th Aug 1912 - 13th Feb 1974) was a legend in Indian Classical vocal music. He is reknowned for his unique and inimitable style of singing, characterised by a slow and meditative unfolding of the Raga and highly imaginative and unpredictable phrases. At the core of his style is a system of note permutations known as "Meerkhand", which after he practised to perfection, seeped into his renditions unconsciously. His style and overall approach were steeped in great depth and serenity.
